Jebrix Technologies Private Limited ("Jebrix", "we", "our", or "us") is the developer and publisher of JebrixMessages, an SMS and MMS messaging application for Android devices.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use JebrixMessages. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data with full transparency and responsibility.
Our core commitment: JebrixMessages is a local-first app. Your messages are stored on your device only. We do not read, upload, or sell your personal messages to any third party — ever.
2. Information We Collect
JebrixMessages accesses certain data on your device solely to provide its core messaging functionality. All data listed below is processed on your device only and is never uploaded to our servers.
Data We Access:
. SMS Messages – To display, send, receive, and organize your text messages.
. MMS Messages – To send and receive media messages (photos, files, documents) where your carrier supports it.
. Contacts – To display sender names and enable contact sharing.
. Phone Number – To identify your SIM card for sending messages.
. App Preferences – To save your theme settings, tab preferences, and scheduled message data.
. Crash Logs (anonymized, optional) – To identify and fix bugs and improve app stability.
. Device Information – Device model, OS version, and app version, collected by analytics and crash tools to improve app performance.
. Advertising ID – Collected by Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network to serve relevant ads. You can reset or opt out of this via your device settings.
. Crash Logs – Collected by Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix bugs. These logs are anonymized and contain no message content.
. App Usage Data – Collected by Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve features.
What We Do NOT Collect:
. The content of your SMS or MMS messages — never uploaded to our servers
. Your precise or approximate location
. Browsing history
. Financial or payment information
. Biometric data
. Login credentials
3. How We Use Your Data
All data accessed by JebrixMessages is used exclusively for the following purposes:
. Core Messaging: Sending, receiving, displaying, and organizing SMS and MMS messages on your device.
. Smart Inbox Organization: Automatically categorizing messages into Personal, OTP, Promotions, and Unread tabs.
. Scheduled Messages: Storing your scheduled message data locally to deliver messages at your chosen time.
. Recycle Bin: Temporarily retaining deleted messages on your device so you can restore them if needed.
. Auto Sync: Keeping your inbox updated and synced within the app across sessions on the same device.
. Search & Filter: Enabling fast local search across your message history without sending data externally.
. Custom Themes: Saving your per-contact theme preferences locally on your device.
. Crash Reporting: Using Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix app crashes and improve stability.
. Analytics: Using Firebase Analytics to understand app usage patterns and improve user experience.
. Advertising: Displaying ads through Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network using your Advertising ID to show relevant advertisements.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond what is described above.
4. Third-Party Services & SDKs
JebrixMessages uses the following third-party services. Each has its own Privacy Policy governing how they handle data:
Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID, device information, and app usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google): We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized crash reports when the app encounters an error. Crashlytics does not collect your message content or personal communications.

Firebase Analytics (Google): We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with JebrixMessages — such as which features are used most. This data is aggregated and anonymized. It does not include the content of your messages.

5. Advertising & Your Choices
JebrixMessages is a free app supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network.
Personalized Ads: By default, ads may be personalized based on your Advertising ID and app usage data.
Opt Out of Personalized Ads: You can opt out at any time via Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization, or by resetting your Advertising ID.
Non-Personalized Ads: If you opt out, you will still see ads but they will not be based on your interests.
We do not share your SMS message content, contacts, or personal communications with any advertising network.
6. SMS & MMS Permissions
JebrixMessages requests the following Android permissions to function as your default messaging app. These are standard permissions required by all SMS apps on Android.
. READ_SMS – To read and display your SMS messages in the inbox.
. SEND_SMS – To send SMS text messages from the app.
. RECEIVE_SMS – To receive incoming SMS messages in real time.
. RECEIVE_MMS – To receive incoming MMS media messages.
. READ_CONTACTS – To display contact names alongside messages.
. WRITE_CONTACTS – To enable contact sharing via MMS.
. INTERNET – Required for displaying advertisements (Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network) and sending anonymized crash and analytics data via Firebase.
. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – To check network connectivity before sending MMS messages and loading ads.
. ACCESS_WIFI_STATE – To check WiFi connectivity for MMS delivery and ad loading.
. SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM – To deliver your scheduled messages at the exact date and time you specified.
. REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS – To ensure the scheduled message service continues running in the background without being interrupted by Android battery optimization, so your messages are delivered on time.
. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED – To automatically restore your scheduled messages after your device restarts.
. VIBRATE – To vibrate your device when a new message arrives.
These permissions are used only for core messaging functionality. JebrixMessages must be set as your default SMS app to access these permissions, in full compliance with Android's default handler requirements and Google Play's SMS permissions policy.
7. Data Storage & Security
All your messages, contacts, preferences, and app data are stored locally on your device. JebrixMessages does not operate its own cloud servers for storing your personal message content.
Security Measures:
. Messages remain in Android's native SMS/MMS database on your device, protected by Android's built-in security model.
. App preferences and theme settings are stored in Android's local SharedPreferences, not accessible by other apps.
. Scheduled message data is stored and processed on your device only.
. Recycle Bin data is stored securely in the app's private local storage.
. Data collected by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Meta, Firebase) is handled according to their respective security standards.
Note on SMS Security: Standard SMS and MMS messages are transmitted over your mobile carrier's network. Message transmission security depends on your carrier's network infrastructure. JebrixMessages does not modify carrier-level encryption.
8. Data Sharing & Third Parties
Jebrix Technologies Private Limited does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or message content with any third party for commercial purposes.
Data is shared only in these limited circumstances:
. Advertising Networks: Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network receive your Advertising ID and device information solely for serving ads. They never receive your message content.
. Crash Analytics: Firebase Crashlytics receives anonymized crash logs with no message content to help us fix bugs.
. App Analytics: Firebase Analytics receives anonymized usage data to help us improve the app.
. Legal Obligation: If required by applicable Indian law, a court order, or a government authority.
Business Transfer: In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, users will be notified in advance.
We do not share your data with data brokers or social media platforms outside of what Meta Audience Network requires for ad serving.
9. Data Retention
Since JebrixMessages stores all data locally on your device, you are in full control of your data.
. Messages: Stored on your device until you delete them. Deleted messages move to the Recycle Bin and are permanently removed when you clear the bin.
. App Preferences & Themes: Retained until you uninstall the app or clear app data in Android Settings.
. Crash Logs: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days for debugging purposes only.
. Scheduled Messages: Stored locally until sent or cancelled by you.
. Anonymized Crash Logs: Retained by analytics provider for up to 90 days for debugging purposes only.
. Ad Data: Managed and retained by Google AdMob and Meta per their respective privacy policies.
Uninstalling JebrixMessages removes all app-specific data from your device.
10. Your Rights
As a user, you have the following rights:
. Access: View which permissions the app uses via Android Settings → Apps → JebrixMessages → Permissions.
. Delete: Remove your messages in-app or clear all app data in Android Settings.
. Withdraw Permissions: Revoke any permission at any time via Android Settings → Apps → JebrixMessages → Permissions.
. Opt Out of Personalized Ads: Via Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
. Opt Out of Crash Reporting: Disable in app Settings or contact us.
. Complaint: Contact us at our support email if you have any concern.
Users covered by India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act or other applicable data protection laws may have additional rights. Please contact us to exercise them.
11. Children's Privacy
JebrixMessages is intended for users aged 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used this app, please contact us immediately. We will take prompt steps to address the situation appropriately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or legal requirements.
. When significant changes are made, we will notify you through an in-app notification or a notice on our Google Play Store listing.
. The updated policy will be posted at the same URL with a revised Last Updated date.
. Your continued use of JebrixMessages after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
. If you do not agree with any changes, you may uninstall the app at any time.
